Uploading Shots to Flow Production Tracking from Cutlist

A step-by-step guide to connecting Cutlist to Flow Production Tracking and uploading your shot list in one click.

One of Cutlist’s most powerful features is its direct integration with Flow Production Tracking (formerly ShotGrid). Instead of manually creating shots in Flow and copy-pasting timecodes from a spreadsheet, you can upload your entire shot list from Cutlist with a single click.

Setting up the connection

Before you can upload, you’ll need three things from your Flow instance: your server URL, OAuth client credentials (client ID and secret), and the project ID you want to upload to. Your Flow administrator can provide these.

In Cutlist, open Settings and enter your Flow connection details. Click “Test Connection” to verify everything is working before you start uploading.

Mapping your fields

Cutlist lets you map which columns in your shot list correspond to which fields in Flow. By default, it maps shot code, source timecodes, and thumbnail — but you can customize this to include scene, take, camera info, or any other metadata you’re tracking.

Uploading your shots

Once your connection is configured and fields are mapped, select the shots you want to upload (or select all) and click Upload. Cutlist handles the rest — creating shots in batch, uploading thumbnails, and giving you a summary of successes and failures when it’s done.

This means your Flow project stays in sync with your editorial timeline, and your production team has visual references for every shot without anyone touching a spreadsheet.
